Autumn is my absolute favourite season, I love the crisp feeling in the air ( when it is dry here!) walking through the park and kicking the huge pile of leaves and their gorgeous deep red, orange colours, wrapping up warm in new scarves and gloves, and not to mention being able to cover my legs up in my trusty 60 deniers!
It is not just the fashion that changes as the leaves fall, your make up will change too. With the new season comes a whole new spectrum of colours, gone are pastels and in are warmer more tonal shades. I was a lucky girl as Superdrug loves and Max Factor sent me all the things I need to create my new autumn look.
As the chill starts to set in, don’t forget your skin care will need a change too. The cold weather means your skin will be crying out for some much needed moisture so get your self a good night cream like this Superdrug Vitamin E one that will help shield your skin from the elements. Your hair too will need an intense treatment to repair it from the summer soon and get it glossy and shiny to show off . This Scandalous treatment is perfect for an instant fix to dry or damaged locks. Once you have your skin prepared for the new season it is time to get your new autumn look together. Here is what I went for using the great Max Factor goodies I was sent.
Autumn to me is about warming up my paler skin by using darker jewel toned colours, sweet and simple cheeks that look natural and rosy from the wind and simple glossy lips along with flawless well cared for skin is what these months call for. This little bundle did exactly that for me. I really liked the end result and was a really easy look to apply.
Here is what I used:
xperience weightless foundation in raw silk 45-This is on offer for only £7.99 at the moment and is well worth the money. My eyes lit up as I saw it was SPF 10 (SPF is for all year round not just for summer ladies) and it is oil free which means it wont clog the pores- a big plus for me as so many foundations do and then break me right out! Since I got this I have been using it as my every day foundation as it applies well even just with my fingers, the tube is really handy for popping in the bag on the go and the colour is gorgeous. It gives a great medium but buildable coverage, and doesn’t feel like I had foundation on which is what I like. A fab base for my autumn look and one I would definitely buy again.
Miracle touch creamy blush in 14 soft pink- Next up I applied my blusher and this one was heaven! It is has become my favourite cream blush ( and I own a fair few…) It gives this stunning dewy finish that looks so youthful, and will help with any dried out autumn skin. It is perfect for beauty on the go as it can be dabbed on with your finger easily. I have also been using it on my lips which looks great. I would totally recommend picking this up!
Smoky Eye Effect Eyeshadow in Citrus Thunder- This dual ended crayon applicator eye shadow stick was not love at first sight, the green end was a little scary and I just didn’t think the colours at first were really for me. However once I had played around with it, I thought the burnt orange is perfect for an autumn look and would look great even as a base under other copper bronze colours if you wanted to blend it with other shades. The crayon style makes it so easy to apply and really just takes seconds, putting a flash of colour on the bottom line is easy with shape of nib so in the end I was really impressed and want to try the other colours in the range they have some stunning looking slate greys and plums available.
Masterpiece Glide and Define Liquid Eyeliner in black is so easy to apply, a stable hand a mirror is all you need along with one slick of this pen applicator to define the eyes over the burnt copper look i have done here. It dried quickly and lasted all day and stayed a nice glossy black. I then topped off with a coat of my favourite mascara ever, my fail safe one I take everywhere with me-Max Factors False Lash Effect ( right now comes in great pink packaging exclusive to Superdurg and making it much easier to find in my bag!) The huge fat brush on this mascara makes my lashes look so much fuller and doesn’t clump, I absolutely love it!
To finish off the whole look I used the Vibrant Curve Effect lip gloss in shade 11 Fashion Leader. It’s a really moisturising gloss, with a handy applicator that holds a good amount of product thanks to little grooves on the wand. It gave my lips a great shine without too much sparkle and looks great on its own or over colour to make it pop.
Something I received that I am not wearing in my photos is the Age Renew Foundation, I have to mention it as I was really impressed. It is a fuller coverage foundation, I will be using it for nights out when I want a more polished look as it gives an incredibly silky looking finish without being cakey and lasts well all day. Not a foundation I would have normally picked up but glad I have it now, it competes hugely with one I bought that was 3 times the price, it even out performs it on the finish and feels nicer on the skin. I got it in shade 55 blushing beige and find it has really matched my skin tone well and has a real illuminating effect.
That is me all set for my autumn looks, I better start working on my winter one
