DARE went backstage at London Fashion Week and got the insider gossip on all things fashion-y. Here’s some highlights, but for more info on what beauty trends you’ll be rocking in S/S 12, check out the nest issue of DARE in store 27 October at Superdrug!
Where: Topshop Unique, Rebecca Minkoff, Nicole Miller
The trend: Colour-clash pinkies
It’s time to put a bit of fun into nails. Rimmel’s Official Nail Expert, Adam Slee, says, ‘Nails will be a real mix of trends. But multi-colours – a different colour on every nail – were huge at the spring/summer 2012 shows. Try clashing colours such as fluro, camel shades and brights for a more individual look.’ And get creative with nail art, like polka-dots or patterns.
The kit: Maybelline Forever Strong Pro in Flamingo Pink (£4.09), GOSH Nail Lacquer in Blue Monday (£5), Rimmel Lycra Pro in Show Off (£4.59)
Superdrug were at London Fashion Weekend giving on-trend nail makeovers by Rimmel to budding fashionistas!
Where: Issa, Matthew Williamson, Christopher Kane
The trend: Textured, flyaway, shiny
‘Even though hair is wilder and more textured for 2012, the look is being glamorized with a defined side or centre parting,’ says Peter Lux, Head & Shoulders Creative Beauty Director. No matter what voltage of texture you’re going for, keep hair floaty, not fluffy, by using a volumising shampoo, texturising powders and large rollers for the ultimate fairy-like look.
The kit: Head & Shoulders Volume Boost Shampoo (£2.55), VO5 Give Me Texture Powder (£4.05), Superdrug 6 Thermo Hair Rollers (£3.99), Fudge Urban Texture Blaster (£6.99)
